This historical fiction novel depicts the history of how women gained the right to vote in Japan through the trajectory of legendary Japanese feminists such as Umeko Tsuda, Raichō Hiratsuka, Ichiko Kamichika, Fusae Ichikawa, Sutematsu Ōyama, Kikue Yamakawa, Noe Itō, Hanako Muraoka and Asako Hirooka.
In 1926, the last year of the Taisho era. Toraji Isshiki, said to be the godmother of Princess Atsuhime, proposed to Yuri Watanabe. The condition of acceptance from her was the unprecedented one that she and Michi Kawai, who is bound to Sisterhood, live together as three people.
